For Rest & Wild, Yorkshire Dales

Project overview

Completed June 2024

In 2024, Kohtalo Construction built and installed five bespoke timber cabins for Rest & Wild, now sat proudly overlooking the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and welcoming guests year-round.

Constructed entirely off-site in our North Devon workshop, each cabin was built with precision using timber frame construction, super-insulated panels, and high-performance glazing to ensure comfort, durability and energy efficiency. Once complete, we arranged and managed transport of the cabins to their final position - a remote hillside location overlooking the Dales - where we carried out on-site installation.

Project Notes & Final Thoughts

Working in close collaboration with Rest & Wild’s design and interior team, we ensured each cabin was delivered fully finished and structurally ready for its final interior configuration. The result is a set of high-performance, site-sensitive cabins that support Rest & Wild’s vision for thoughtful, off-grid accommodation. Each cabin is built to last and designed to withstand varied weather conditions even on an exposed site. They have been conscientiously designed to feel luxurious, warm and welcoming as well as functional.

This project is a great example of our off-site modular build capability, allowing for efficient all-season construction, reduced disruption to sensitive sites, and quick, clean on-site installation anywhere in the UK.
